The email campaign tool built into Fresh Vine was completely overhauled this year. We realized that it was an underused tool by many of our customers. After talking to some users we learned that it was a bit confusing, and at times slow to use. With that in mind we made some really great improvements to the messaging tool.
If you haven’t sent a message in a while, please check it out! We’d love to know what you think of the improvements to the campaign tool, and where you’d like to see it go next.
More Manageable Steps
There are now 6 steps to sending an email campaign. These steps break the process down into manageable stages, and allow you to more easily understand what needs to be accomplished along the way. This replaces the previous 2 steps that were very cluttered, dense, and it was easy to miss things. The steps are as follows:
Details – Set who the message is from, who the replies go to, and choose your template and layout.
Writing – Right away you are crafting the content of your message
Focus – This step lets you use the powerful Fresh Vine profile filter, to zero in on the exact recipients you want.
Focus List – Review the focused list, and exclude individuals for further fine tuning of your focus
Review – Review everything on one page, and make sure it’s all squared away before you schedule or send your message.
Schedule your Messages
You can now schedule your messages to send any time in the future. This was one of the most requested features. Scheduling a message is a great way to boost engagement with other events. It could be an email early in the morning of a fundraising drive, or follow up resources at the conclusion of an event.
If you schedule messages more then a few days out, we’ll send you a notification 2 days before it sends. In our team here, we often like to review things one last time. Helps keep the stress in check.
Improved Message Reports
Understanding how your message did is important. When you have access to the right pieces of information you start to learn how your members respond to your messaging. You’ll learn what days and times work best, and what types of content they engage with the most.
The new message report shows your open rate, how quickly your message was read, and compares this message to others by your group, organization, and market segment. There is also a new follow up notification on sent messages to invite you back to the report 36 hours after it was sent. By this time the majority of individuals who would read your message will have done so, and you’ll be able to see how the message did.
Improved Message Previewing
It’s normal to need a few different eyes to sign off on an email before it gets sent. Now you can easily send previews from Fresh Vine to yourself, all the group leaders, or any comma-separated list of email addresses. Even more, you can add a customized preview note that gets placed at the very top of your message. This can be helpful to share how quickly you need feedback, or what you’d like help with before sending. Any replies get sent to the email address of whoever sent the preview.
It could be that you have a message you send every month that is mostly the same, or that you need to send the same message to a few different groups. We heard you, and you can now easily duplicate a message. You can duplicate that message while you’re drafting it, while it’s waiting in the queue to send, or after it has sent.
Improved Social Sharing
We updated the social sharing tool within Fresh Vine to be more attractive and easier to use. This makes it a snap for you, or your readers to be able to share your messages with friends.
Choose Template by Screen Shot
It was difficult to remember what an email template looked like. Now every email and template has a screen shot taken to make it simple to choose the correct template the first time. It is also pretty nice to be able to see screenshots of your past emails when looking through the history.
We’re excited for all these changes, and hope you like them too. Let us know what you think!
