It was announced today that a vulnerability exists in Linux (including Android), BSD, and Mac OSx (presumably also in iOS) that allows a third party to take full control of a machine/device. Our server environment here at Fresh Vine is Linux. We are actively following this issue as news, developments, and fixes are released.
All of our servers have been patched and updated to be as current as possible at the time of writing. But the currently available updates are not a complete fix for ShellShock. We will be updating our status blog with details on future updates/fixes.
You might remember the Heartbleed bug earlier this year and in comparison this is a larger issue. We are optimistic that the remaining issues will be resolved and available for us to patch our servers soon.
Update 22:27 CST 9/25/14: Our work to secure the Fresh Vine servers is working. The basic issue of the ShellShock bug is resolved, though we are still waiting for a permanent solution to be released.
