It’s the end of the year, and a new one is staring us in the face just a few short days away. A new year. With a new year comes change, whether we want to face it or not. Over the last year I’ve been forced to learn about and experience change, more than ever before. Most of the time I don’t understand people’s aversion to change (where you live, what kind of car you drive, etc) – until I’m faced with something that I’m forced to acknowledge will change me to my very core.
I used to think of this as a bad thing – after all, our very core is good, right? Well, the more I’ve learned about change – and openly accepting and welcoming change – the more I’ve come to realize that our cores need to be transformed. Desperately. They need to be transformed to become more like Christ’s. As long as we keep this as our goal, and do this with Him, no transformation will be too difficult. After all, he walked this earth making change wherever He went. So try something new this year, along with me. Instead of attempting to preserve and hold on to everything as usual, I’m going to try to be open to my whole world being flipped upside-down – because that’s what I see Christ do with those he met.
